Lets Get Naked!

Aquatic Park Hot Pools are located near Helensville, North of Auckland. To get there you take State Highway 16 from the end of the North Western Motorway, through Kumeu and Waimauku. Just before Helensville the highway arrives at a T junction with a round-a-bout. Mill Road to the right goes to Helensville township, and Parkhurst Road to the left goes to Parakai. The Aquatic Park pools are a short way down Parkhurst Road on the right-hand side. Naturist days are on the first and third Fridays each month, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more info, check their website HERE

The naturist area is a private rock pool courtyard
normally used for private functions which, on naturist
days, is available for those who wish to be naked. You
still have access to the rest of the Aquatic Park
complex including the hydroslides, but obviously you
need to wear togs outside the rock-pool area, or you
just might attract some funny looks! I would love to have a go down the hydroslides naked though!

The rock-pool courtyard has a large undercover area
 for setting out food tables, and there is a large gas
BBQ available. It would be a brilliant venue for a
naturist BBQ get-together.

I went with a friend last Friday (15th) for the afternoon
and evening and was surprised to find only one other
person in the naturist area. Another young couple
joined us for about an hour during the evening. My
friend and I spent about 30 minutes playing on the
hydroslides and then checked out the other (textile)
pools before returning to the rock-pool for a final soak
and refreshments. The staff were extremely helpful
and kept the water at a really nice 40 degree temper-
ature for us. It was a totally wonderful time - just a
shame it wasn`t so well patronised. I think we need to
make use of this excellent facility as much as possible
to ensure we don`t lose it.

administers a campground right next door, with both
powered and non-powered sites.
